Kande is a popular starting point for the Mardi Himal Trek, and I travelled between Pokhara and Kande when I went on the Australian Camp Trek.
Kande is 27 km from Pokhara and you can get there by taking a local bus or taxi. The buses go from the Baglung Bus Park and Hari Chowk (Pokhara) to Kande and takes around 1 hour to get there. The bus ticket costs between Rs. 110-150 (USD 1).
The taxi from Pokhara to Kande takes 45 minutes and costs around Rs. 2,000 (USD 15) . If you want to go by taxi, it is best to book the journey with a taxi driver the day before your trip.

Kande is 27 km from Pokhara and it takes about 1 hour to get there by bus. If you take a taxi, it takes around 45 minutes to get from Pokhara to Kande.

Kande is 27 km from Pokhara and is a popular starting point for the Mardi Himal Trek, Australian Camp, or you can even go on the Panchase Trek.
The buses to Kande leave from the Baglung Bus Park and Hari Chowk in Pokhara.
Hari Chowk (Pokhara) to Kande by Bus

Hari Chowk is on the northern side of Pokhara and it is a bus and jeep station to various destinations near Pokhara.
There is a bus at 7 am from Hari Chowk to Kande every day, and after that they go about once an hour. I usually go to Hari Chowk around 7 am if I have to take any jeep or bus from this station.
Usually, most people come to Hari Chowk early morning, and many jeeps and buses start operation around 5-6 am.
Sometimes, transport schedule can change in Nepal. So, if you want to be sure, it is best to go to Hari Chowk the day before your trip and confirm the bus schedule.
These are local buses and there are no tourist buses between Pokhara and Kande. This means that it is not possible to pre-book a ticket and you can just get on the bus and pay for your ticket during the bus ride.

Baglung Bus Park (Pokhara) to Kande by Bus


The Baglung Bus Park is 10 minutes’ drive from Lakeside and you can get there by taxi or taking a public bus.
The Baglung Bus Park is a major bus station in Pokhara and you can find buses here going to places near Pokhara, such as Kande, Sarangkot and Ghandruk.
The buses from Baglung Bus Park to Kande leave all day long. The first bus goes at 6:30 am, and then there is a bus about every 30 minutes. You don’t need to pre-book a ticket, just turn up at the bus station and ask for the bus to Kande.
How to get to the Baglung Bus Park from Lakeside
The easiest to get to the Baglung Bus Park is to take a taxi. For the best taxi prices, download one of the Nepali taxi apps (InDrive, Pathao). They work just like Uber and it is a great way to get around Pokhara.
If you want to take the bus to the Baglung Bus Park, then first take a bus from Lakeside to 0 km, then change to another bus to the Baglung Bus Park:

Taking a taxi from Pokhara to Kande is also an option. If you are short on time, the taxis are more comfortable and faster than taking a bus.
It takes about 45 minutes to get from Pokhara to Kande by taxi.

The best way to reach Dhampus from Pokhara is to take a bus to Phedi. The buses leave from Hari Chowk in Pokhara to Phedi and takes about 30-40 minutes.
Once you get to Phedi, the trail starts to Dhampus. The trek takes 2.5 hours from Phedi to Dhampus.
How far is Kande from Kathmandu?
Kande is 230 km from Kathmandu and it takes around 10-11 hours to get there.
First, you would have to take a tourist bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The tourist buses from Kathmandu to Pokhara go frequently every day and take around 8-9 hours.
If you take the day bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara, then you would only arrive to Pokhara by late afternoon. So, you’d have to spend one night in Pokhara and then catch the bus from Pokhara to Kande the next morning.
