Hey!

I’m Kris and welcome to my travel blog!

In my travel blog, I primarily write about travelling in Nepal.

If you are looking for tips and tricks about Nepal – you’re at the right place!

I have been visiting and periodically living in Nepal since 2015. In 2023, I moved back to Kathmandu where I live now.

So, how did I end up in Nepal?

To be honest, it was a bit of a spontaneous trip.

I was travelling in Mongolia in early 2015 and I was supposed to go back to my life in London. I made a spur of the moment decision to travel to Nepal. I didn’t know it then, but it was one of those decisions that people would describe as “life-changing”.

I first got to Nepal in February 2015 and it instantly felt as a special place to me. I ended up spending a couple of months in Nepal and I was in Nepal during the earthquakes in April 2015. After experiencing the earthquakes, Nepal not only felt as my home but it also put me on my career in humanitarian work.

Since 2015, I have been coming back to Nepal almost every year (expect for sometime during covid). In 2023, I took a break from my career and decided to come back to Nepal.

I live in Kathmandu now and happy to be settled down in one place for the first time in a long time.

Why should you read my blog?

I only write about places where I have lived and travelled extensively and all the content I write about are based on my personal experience.

I usually travel solo and do not use travel agencies or trekking guides. This way, I really get to understand different cultures and perspectives. When you are travelling on your own, you have to plan and prepare better.

Through my articles on my travel blog, I hope to help other travellers explore Nepal and make their travel easier.

Why do I write about travelling in Nepal?

I first started writing my blog as a free-time activity. I admit, I can be a bit of a workaholic, so I started to take my blog like a job almost from the very beginning.

While I spent a lot of time in Nepal, I found there is still so much information about Nepal that is not available online.

Most of the information online is dominated by big trekking and tour agencies, and there is little information on how you can travel Nepal solo, without a guide or trekking agency.

So through my travel blog, my goal is to provide up-to-date travel information in Nepal so that travellers in Nepal can make well-informed decisions.
