Trek Nepal With Me in 2026

For more than 10 years, Nepal has been my second home.

I’ve explored the country extensively, completed more than eight treks across the Himalayas, and spent years helping travelers plan their own adventures through this blog. Even after all these years, every trek still feels like a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Now I’d love to share that experience with you.

In 2026, I’m organizing two small group treks that I’ll personally be joining and co-leading alongside experienced, licensed Nepali trekking guides. These aren’t large commercial tours, they’re relaxed, friendly groups for people who want to experience the mountains with like-minded travelers while knowing everything has been taken care of.

I have partnered with a trusted Nepali trekking agency, a registered company with more than 15 years of experience running high-quality Himalayan expeditions. Together, we combine local expertise with the personal support you’ve come to expect from Travelling Mandala.

If you’ve always dreamed of trekking in Nepal but weren’t sure where to start, this is exactly the kind of trip I wish had existed when I first came here. And that’s exactly why I’m running these treks.

Why I’m Running These Treks

When I first came to Nepal, I had no idea just how much this country would change my life. What started as a single trip turned into years of returning, countless adventures in the Himalayas, and eventually making Kathmandu my home.

Through this blog, I’ve helped lots of people plan their own trips to Nepal, but I’ve always wanted to take it one step further. These treks are my chance to share the experience in person, to hike together, introduce you to the incredible people and culture that make Nepal so special, and help you create memories that will stay with you long after you’ve left the mountains.

Why Join One of My Treks?

There are hundreds of trekking agencies in Nepal. What makes these trips different is that you’re not just booking a package, you’re joining me on the journey.

From the moment you start planning until the day you fly home, you’ll have my personal support, together with an experienced local team that knows these mountains inside out.

During the trek, we’ll be accompanied by licensed English-speaking Nepali trekking guides and porters who have spent years guiding in the Himalayas. Their knowledge, professionalism and local insight are what make these trips run smoothly and safely.

I only organize two departures in 2026, which allows me to keep the groups small and make the experience much more personal.

These Treks Are Perfect If…

  • You’ve always wanted to trek in Nepal but feel overwhelmed by all the planning.
  • You’d rather spend your time enjoying the mountains than organizing permits, transport and accommodation.
  • You like the idea of traveling with someone who’s spent years exploring Nepal and sharing honest advice online.
  • You enjoy small groups instead of large commercial tours.
  • You want the reassurance of trekking with licensed Nepali guides while having me there throughout the experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who runs these treks?

The trips are operated by a licensed, registered Nepali trekking agency with more than 15 years of experience. I’ll be joining the group throughout the trek, while all guiding and logistics are handled by experienced local professionals.

Will you actually be on the trek?

Yes. That’s what makes these departures different. I’ll be trekking with the group throughout the journey alongside our licensed Nepali guides.

How big are the groups?

To keep the experience personal, group sizes are kept small (6-8 people).

Do I need trekking experience?

Not necessarily.

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is suitable for reasonably fit hikers with no previous trekking experience, while Everest Base Camp requires a higher level of fitness and preparation.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance covering trekking to the maximum altitude of your chosen trek, including emergency evacuation, is mandatory.

How to get a visa for Nepal?

Most nationalities can get a visa on arrival for Nepal. The process can be completed after landing at the Kathmandu airport, and we will provide information and advice on getting the tourist visa.

What accommodation is like?

We’ll stay in comfortable hotels in Kathmandu and simple teahouses during the trek. Rooms in the mountains are shared twin rooms, just like on most Himalayan trekking routes.

What about food?

The package includes 3 meals per day during the trek (breakfast, lunch, dinner). There are various dishes in the teahouses, both Nepali and international dishes: dal bhat (the national dish of Nepal), pizza, momo, pancake, omelette, and many others.

Apart from the 3 meals, any other snacks, dessert or drinks (coffee, soft drinks, alcohol) are not included.

Is there wifi/internet network on the treks?

Yes, on most of the trekking routes, there is wifi available in the teahouses! However, there can be exceptions in case the wifi network is unavailable. In case the wifi is down, it usually comes back after a couple of hours, however, it may happen that you don’t have wifi for 1-2 days.

You usually have to pay extra for wifi at the teahouses, around Rs. 300 (USD2) on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Rs. 1,500-2,000 (USD 10-13) on the Everest Base Camp Trek.

On some trekking routes, you also have some network coverage, however, it can be very unreliable. You should still get a local SIM card, Nepal Telecom (Namaste) generally has better coverage than NCell in the mountains.
