I have visited Pokhara many times, and have tried and tested lots of the hotels there! Pokhara is the most popular destination in Nepal, so it has many hotels to choose from, including budget, mid-range, and high-end, luxury hotels.

Lakeside is where most travelers stay, and it is right next to Phewa Lake, and all amenities, such as shops, restaurants and bars. If you prefer a quieter place, it is best to book a place which is a little bit further out from Lakeside.

If you are looking for an affordable place to stay, and make friends with other travelers, the Pokhara Backpackers Hostel is the best option!

They have 4, 6, and 12-bed dorm rooms. Most of the dorm rooms are mixed, but they also have a 4-bed female only dorm room. The 12-bed dorm is mixed but it has curtains on its beds as well as a private bathroom.

The great thing is that they also have private rooms, so if you prefer some privacy, but still want to socialize and make new friends in the hostel, you can hang out in the common areas, while still have a private room for the night.

Another cool hostel in Pokhara is the Forest Lake Backpackers. It is located in the far edge of Lakeside, so it is more in a quiet area but still close enough to all the bars and restaurants.

It has mixed and female only dorm rooms. The great thing is that all bunk beds have curtains, so you get a bit more privacy. When I used to backpack and stayed in hostels, I always preferred the dorms with curtains as it is nice to have some more privacy.
