The road is in good condition up until Chautara. From Chautara onwards, it is a narrower dirt road but it’s still possible to drive by car to the waterfall.
Altogether, it takes about 3,5-4 hours to reach the Bhoot Chhanga Waterfall from Kathmandu by car. At the entrance of the waterfall, there is some space for parking. After you arrive at the parking spot, you will find some stairs to lead you down the way to the waterfall.

There are minivans that go from Kathmandu to Chautara every day. The minivans leave between 6-7 am from Koteshwor in Kathmandu and reaches Chautara in 5 hours. The ticket costs Rs. 400.

Once the minivan/bus drops you in Chautara, you still have to walk for about 1.5 hours to reach the waterfall. The signage to the waterfall is limited, if you check on Google Maps, it will show the way to the waterfall.
Overall, it is better to go to Bhoot Chhanga by your own vehicle. If you take the minivans or public bus, it will take a very long time and you will not have much time to enjoy being at the waterfall if you want to make back to Kathmandu the same day.

You should pack some food and snacks as after you pass Chautara, the options for food and drinks are limited.
A restaurant was being built near the entrance of the waterfall when I was there but I am not sure if it was completed. So, it is best to bring your own food for the day.
Change of Clothes (optional)
In case you go into the waterfall and your clothes do not get dry by the time you leave, you can consider to bring a change of clothes.
When I visited, they were building a changing room but I am unsure if it is completed by now. In any case, usually there are barely any people around and there are spots where you can hide away and get changed if you need to.
