Are you looking for the most essential travel resources and tips to help make your travel easier?

You are in the right place as I have been travelling and living abroad in different countries for almost 15 years. I think when I first left home for a gap year in 2007, I did not even have a smart phone.

Times have since changed and smartphones and mobile apps have made travel so much easier.

Here, I have compiled a list of my most recommended travel resources that I have tried and tested for over 15 years of living and travelling abroad.

FLIGHTS

Skyscanner brings together all airlines and possible flight options in one place. The good thing is? They have very good flight deals!

Kiwi.com is similar to Skyscanner and is great to browse and book various flights for a cheap price. You can find some of the best deals here!

Expedia is another great source to browse and book flight tickets. They have lots of last minute deals and even offers package deals.

ACCOMMODATION

Booking.com is the ultimate place to browse accommodations. It has everything that you are looking for, from budget hostels to luxury resorts.

AirBnb is great for both short-term and long-term stays. It is a great option if you are looking for more comforts than just a hotel room.

Hostelworld is the backpackers’ paradise where you will find the best and most affordable hostels in one place.

Agoda is very similar to Booking.com, meaning that you can find all types of hostels, hotels or resorts in one place.

INSURANCE

SafetyWing is the most affordable travel and medical insurance that you can use worldwide. The great thing about it is that you can purchase an insurance even if you are already travelling.

ACTIVITIES AND TOURS

GetYourGuide is one of your best options if you are looking for day trips and activities. They have online reviews so you can see all previous ratings.

Viator is also one of the best places to book tours and day trips. They have activities all around the world and you can read previous reviews.

Apart from accommodation, AirBnB Exeprience has all types of activities around the world. You can also see previous reviews there!

TRAVEL CARDS

Wise is a multi-currency travel card that is great for international trave. You can use it in hotels, restaurant shops and it saves you money by having the best exchange rates.

Revolut is also a multi-currency card. It is easy to use to pay at hotels, restaurants, shops or withdrawing from ATMs. They also have very good exchange rates that will save you money.

The Charles Schwab checking account is the only bank card that will reimburse 100% of international ATM withdrawal fees. The catch is that it is only open for US. residents.

NAVIGATION & MAPS

Maps.me is a map app that you can also use offline without any connection to internet. Just make sure to download the map beforehand. It is also great for trekking and hiking!

Mapy.cz is another great map app to use offline. It has hiking and trekking routes as well. It is a really good app to use for general navigation or trekking while you have no data or mobile network.
