2 Weeks in Cambodia Itinerary + Best Things to Do!

Looking for the perfect 2 weeks in Cambodia itinerary?

You’ve come to the right place! I spent about 1 year in Cambodia, both as a tourist and as a long-term resident. I first visited Cambodia as a tourist, then a few years later I got a job there, so got to explore Cambodia pretty well.

Visiting Angkor Wat is a bucket list destination for many travellers, and while I must certainly say that you cannot miss Angkor Wat while in Cambodia, there are so many other things to do as well.

To see as much of Cambodia as possible, you need at least two weeks, however, if you have more time than you can explore even more places.

Some of the best places to visit in Cambodia in 2 weeks are Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Kampot, Kep and Sihanoukville.

So, here is how to spend 2 weeks in Cambodia!

Phnom Penh is the capital city of Cambodia and it is the perfect place to learn about the history of Cambodia.

When visiting Cambodia, you should spend at least 2 days in Phnom Penh. That will give you enough time to explore the most important attractions.

In two days in Phnom Penh, you can check out the Choeung Ek Genocidal Centre (Killing Fields), Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, Royal Palace of Cambodia, markets, go on a sunset boat trip, and try Khmer food on a food tour.

Visiting the Angkor Wat in Siem Reap is a bucket list destination for many travellers. I must say that watching the sunrise and sunset at Angkor Wat is truly a beautiful experience, although it can get crowded with many tourists at times!

Overall, the best things to do in Siem Reap include visiting the Angkor Archaeological Park (including the Angkor Wat!), boat trip to the floating villages and to see the sunrise on the Tonle Sap, see a performance at the Phare Circus and exploring the markets in Siem Reap.

Kampot is a great place if you are looking for a place to relax and chill by the riverside.

Kampot is still not as touristy like Siem Reap or Sihanoukville. While most travellers go to Sihanoukville for the nightlife and parties, Kampot offers a more laid-back, easy-going atmosphere.

Kampot is located in the southern part of Cambodia and is mostly known for its pepper farming and salt fields. It is a very relaxed beach town but there are plenty of activities to do.

Some of the best things to do in Kampot include visiting the pepper farms, salt fields, exploring nearby caves, swimming in a secret lake or going on sunset fireflies boat tours.

The night bus is pretty comfortable considering it is a night bus. Every passenger has their own sleeping space and if you have your own sleeping bag or sleeping bag liner, you can make a pretty comfy bed for the night.

Day 13: Kep to Phnom Penh Travel

If you are flying out from Phnom Penh, you you should get back to Phnom Penh at least one day before your flight.

You might not follow this exact itinerary during your 2 weeks in Cambodia trip, but you should make sure to get to the city of your departure at least one day before.

When visiting Cambodia, you should always consider the travel time between cities too. There are day and night buses in Cambodia, and when you travel from one place to the next, it will take up almost a day of travel between each places.

So, when you plan 2 weeks in Cambodia, you will also have to include the travel days in between the places you will visit.

Day 14: Fly Out from Cambodia

If your flight is exactly on day 14 of your 2 weeks Cambodia trip, then you will not have time to do much else on this day, then packing and heading to the airport.
